The Donald R. Shepherd Women's Gymnastics Training Center
The 22,000-square-foot facility, made possible by a $3.5 million gift from Donald R. Shepherd, a Michigan alumnus, is the practice and training home of our program
The state-of-the-art complex, opened in 2002, has 17,000 square feet of training area which is outfitted with the latest in gymnastics training equipment, including resi- and free-foam pits for each event. There is an additional 5,000 square feet which houses a training room, offices for the coaching staff, a locker room, a team lounge, and a study area for the student-athletes.
The lobby houses all the team’s trophies, from Big Ten titles to NCAA finishes. The north wall of the facility houses the team’s Wall of Champions, consisting of team records and more than 40 years of history.
OUR COMPETITION VENUE

Our competition venue is second-to none and our team has a GREAT fan base. Over the past two seasons we have averaged approximately 4,000+ fans per meet! Our marketing and promotions staff does a great job with fan engagement, social media, and generating fantastic support for our program. Most of our home meets have fun themes, give-aways for fans, and post-meet autograph sessions!
